A Seat at the Table
Topic: Sunday Gathering Passage: 2 Samuel 4:4–4:4, 2 Samuel 9:1–9:13, Luke 22:19–19:20, 1 John 4:7–4:21
The story of Mephibosheth isn't a well known one - if only because his name is particularly hard to pronounce! Yet it's a remarkable and moving picture of the pursuing and restoring grace of God towards us.
We've all experienced a fall, and that fall has left us broken. And in the pain of that breaking we so often turn to hiding, cutting ourselves off from community in the fear that our wounds will be exposed.
Yet like Mephibosheth, we have a King who comes not to humiliate or humble us, but to find us in the midst of our brokenness and to restore us to his palace - not as servants who attend him, but as adopted children who are given a seat at his table.
Discover the vulnerable, costly grace of Jesus, and share in his story of transformation and rescue - take your seat at the table!
