The Gospel Project

The Gospel is God's Good News.

It's the story of how God stepped into history to save people - to rescue us from the effects of sin. Here's the deal:

  • God is more holy, perfect, and pure than we could ever imagine.
  • We are more sinful and messed up than we would ever admit.

Because God is just - our sinfulness must be dealt with. But because God is loving - He planned for our salvation from all eternity. Because God is merciful and and full of compassion, this is what He did:

  • He sent his Son Jesus who lived the life we should have lived - completely fulfilling God's moral requirements.
  • He died the death we should have died:  he bore the penalty for our sin by dying in our place on the cross so that we could be reconciled to God and restored to relationship with him.

Jesus loved us so much that he died a sacrificial death in our place so that we could gain what the Bible calls eternal life. That's what's on offer in the gospel. And he was raised from the dead because He was victorious in accomplishing God's purpose of salvation. And that's good news.

Jesus made a way for us to know God - not on the merit of our own good works, and not through religious tradition or mystical ceremony - but through his life, death, and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8-10).

We’d love to answer your questions about the gospel, and we invite you to join us on a Sunday to explore what it means to follow Jesus.
