Philippians 1:1-11

July 8, 2018 Speaker: Gordon Wright Series: Philippians: Eyes on the Prize

Topic: Sunday Gathering Passage: Philippians 1:1–1:11

Paul begins his letter to the church in Philippi with a tremendous encouragement - what God has begun in you He will finish!

But how do you feel about 'God's plan for your life'?  Can we step out of it?  If God is in charge, does it really matter how we live?  Or does the notion that there's a bigger plan than your own annoy or even anger you?

As we begin our summer series, discover how God's plan for your life isn't necessarily what you think, and learn how understanding His work reshapes our hearts and our lives as we follow Jesus...

Discussion/Reflection Questions:

As most of our community groups are on break for the summer, we'll be posting questions here each week so you can the most out of the sermon.

  1. How confident are you that God will finish the good work He’s started in you?  Why/not?
  2. What would change in your life if you were deeply convinced about it?
  3. What is currently motivating you to obey Jesus?
  4. How can you grow in the love of Jesus this week?
